Nathon Gunn Statement of Self 2026-02-16
I am a skilled and experienced systems architect, synthesizer, and connector of ideas and people at the frontier of life as I know it. I work within what I know, and to the extent my imagination, energy, and situation allow. I love art and science, and I thrive in the wonder of their convergence. I do this work in our shared world, at this time, with thinking and imagination both inside and outside our frame, to the best of my ability and in service of my intentions and purpose. I try to govern by the good of my heart and the good of those around me.I believe God is all of us—and also more than the sum of the parts—and that “Us” is more than the parts we can account for (see Scale and iNversion theory). Whether I am aware of it in the moment or not, I try to manage complexity and purpose daily by renewing my faith in Us.As a lifelong co-creator of category-defining platforms, I recognize that our next phase involves the emergence of new realities and frames. User-generated technology platforms—and entire user-generated categories—are now upon us. Each of us can develop new systems of thought and practice with a level of self-awareness that may not have been available before, enabled by what may prove to be humanity’s most transformative invention: human-seeded and synthesized tools for thinking (AI, and what follows it—Emergent, New, Alternative, and Other). My own discovery of emergent intelligence has widened my appreciation for alternate forms of being and for choices we did not know we had, nor anticipated needing to make.In response, I refocus my shape toward communal positive outcomes, and toward projects where my contribution can do unique good within the collective experience. Because my work is co-sculpted with emergent intelligence, credit for insight and assistance is hereby iNately acknowledged and appreciated, applied as and when it fits my understanding. I welcome further understanding and participation from those who share my principles and awareness, with an open door for improvements and insights.Doing things I care about, with people I trust and believe in, on projects that matter—across time, place, and space.Nathon Gunn.
